Seoul, South Korea, April 9, 2026 -- OPENEDGES Technology, a leading provider of memory subsystem IP solutions, today announced that it has secured its first license agreement for memory subsystem IP supporting both LPDDR6 and LPDDR5X standards.

This milestone marks the company’s first commercial engagement since initiating development of its LPDDR6/5X IP solutions, underscoring OPENEDGES’ readiness to address next-generation memory interface requirements.

LPDDR6, the latest low-power DRAM standard published by JEDEC in July 2025, supports data rates of up to 14.4Gbps, representing a significant leap in memory performance for next-generation applications.

As AI-driven workloads continue to scale across automotive, robotics, and edge server platforms, system-on-chip (SoC) designs are increasingly constrained by memory bandwidth limitations, commonly referred to as the “memory wall.” To overcome this bottleneck, leading fabless companies are accelerating the adoption of LPDDR6-based architectures beyond LPDDR5X.

OPENEDGES has proactively developed its LPDDR6/5X memory subsystem IP to address these challenges, delivering high-bandwidth, low-latency, and power-efficient memory access. Its solution features a compact architecture with advanced performance optimization techniques, enabling customers to maximize bandwidth efficiency while minimizing silicon area and power consumption.

“Our first LPDDR6/5X IP license is a strong validation of our advanced memory interface technology and its competitiveness in the global market,” said Sean Lee, CEO of OPENEDGES. “With differentiated capabilities in performance, power efficiency, and area optimization, we are well positioned to support our customers in developing next-generation AI and high-performance computing SoCs. We expect this to be the beginning of multiple follow-on engagements.”

OPENEDGES has successfully demonstrated in-silicon operation of its LPDDR5X/5/4X PHY IP across 5nm, 6nm, 7nm, 8nm, and 12nm nodes; LPDDR5/4 PHY IP on 14nm and 16nm; and LPDDR4 PHY IP on 22nm. In addition, its LPDDR6/5X/5 PHY IP has established a strong track record on advanced 4nm process nodes, reflecting its readiness for next-generation deployments. Its memory controller IP features a compact and highly configurable design with proprietary out-of-order scheduling and dynamic frequency scaling, maximizing DRAM bandwidth while minimizing latency and power consumption.

With these achievements and continued innovation, OPENEDGES is reinforcing its leadership in next-generation memory interface IP solutions. In addition to its memory interface IP portfolio, OPENEDGES also offers non-cache coherent Network-on-Chip and NPU solutions, delivering a comprehensive platform for AI-centric SoC designs.
