Job Summary:

As a System Administrator, you will operate, maintain, integrate, upgrade, and manage all hardware and software computing resources for the U.S. engineering team. This includes infrastructure, servers, laptops, network, security, and storage. You will also be responsible for installing, maintaining, debugging, and automating all required Windows and Linux applications.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and manage office IT infrastructure including machines, network access, and storage

  • Set up and manage PC and Linux machines for employees

  • Monitor office security and install and maintain backup and recovery mechanisms

  • Install, maintain, and automate all EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, etc.), compute tools (grid engine / LSF, Jenkins, etc.) and project management tools (GitHub, Jira, Confluence, etc.) used by the engineering team

  • Participate in capacity and resource planning for the above items

  • Provide support to all US-based engineers and support staff for the above

  • Coordinate with System Administrators at other locations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a college degree and 7 years of experience

  • Comprehensive understanding in network settings including DNS, DHCP, VPN and Firewall

  • Experience in Windows and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS)

  • Solid experience in Docker

  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and automating EDA tools required by an engineering team such as those from Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor

  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and automating required compute environments and tools such as LDAP, Sun Grid Engine, and Jenkins/Ansible

  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira

  • Bash Scripting experience for Linux environment

  • Experience installing and maintaining project management tools

  • Positive attitude towards problem solving

  • Comfortable working independently when needed, or as part of a team


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with semiconductor design teams

  • Scripting and programming experience in multiple languages (Python, etc.)
